ABOUT CHARLES LEW, ESQ
Charles Lew, originally from Scotland, grew up in Florida and moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount Law School and embrace life as an Angeleno. His first LA job as a Hollywood nightclub bouncer exposed him to a variety of industries that would inspire his initial entrepreneurial ventures. Charles obtained his CA real estate brokerage license in 2004 and put everything he had into a real estate start-up that fell victim to the 2008 crash, leaving him almost penniless. Aside from his law practice, The Lew Firm, where he represents Metta World Peace, Nick Fouquet, Omari Hardwick, Trejos Tacos, Kelis, Flaunt Magazine, amongst others, he went on to open the first of 7 and counting Stout Burgers and Beer in 2009, which lead to the formation of several other hospitality ventures and unrelated businesses including The Morrison Pub, Boomtown Brewery, Huckleberry Ltd, Third Wave Market, Veritil, HRmony, etc.
Charles is on the Board of Directors at Loyola Law School and is working closely with the Dean on developing a program that will educate and prepare students for what's to come with entrepreneurial laws and endeavors as well as artificial intelligence and how it pertains to the law. He is also a founding member for Forbes LA Business Council and a Forbes.com contributor, and hosts quarterly paneled networking events with FLABC.
Charles is active in the political arena on both city and state levels, and enjoyed hosting fundraisers for Governors Gavin Newsom and Jared Polis recently. Last but most certainly not least, Charles believes in giving back a percentage of his businesses, and is actively involved with charities like Adopttogether, Mental Health America, Project Paperbag, Stout’s Sip, Chew, Give, and an internal program that encourages employees to volunteer their time to a charity of their choice and a donation is made to that charity on their behalf by Stout.
